February 3, 2010 at 7:04 PMthanks lujiaojie, I always slip up on this one, never know when to use it without the 是, (my chinese teacher tells me off when I add 的 at the end of my sentences without the 是). But I always like adding it because like tal_ suggested below, in my opinion it sounds alot more natural too

February 3, 2010 at 4:10 PMI haven't got round to listening to the lesson yet, saving it until I get through the vocab/expansion. Is 起 in the expansion sentence '那起谋杀案终于真相大白了' a measure word?

January 30, 2010 at 12:09 PMhey, i'm really enjoying this series. sorry if this is a bit of a silly question, but I was just wondering if someone could explain to me the structure of these 3 sentences in the dialogue (健明和我一起来的呀。你们还说过话的呢.你别大惊小怪的) Why do they both have 的 at the end? Did they just omit the 是 from a 是。。。的 pattern? If so, how do you know what exactly to put between the 是。。的，and what should go before the 是。Thanks c-pod

对了，还有另外一个问题，你知道在这个对话里讨论那个同志的词。这个词一般是褒义还是贬义的？只是我最近开始看那个中国节目-家有儿女，（因为我们在英国只有一个中文频道），这个节目每个星期转播呢。 上个星期的节目那个节目的妈妈主角常常用同志这个词。

January 21, 2010 at 6:47 AM你好大家，我刚刚听了这个对话，只想问一个问题，你知道在新的生词里有那个词语‘凑热闹’。我在我的字典里检查了那个词语，还有另外一个意思-就是‘to add trouble to'。 什么意思比较常用呢？这个 ’凑热闹’一般是贬义还是褒义的？

Also thanks for mentioning the 卑鄙 different tone issue in the podcast John!! At first I was getting confused which was correct when my dictionary read bei1bi3.
