I like how fast the videos are, I don't find it pushing my attention span at all. I think if the videos were a little bit longer I wouldn't finish them. Good balance!

September 1, 2008 at 9:05 AMAm I right in assuming that a ”车子“ is anything that is about the size of a bicycle.. I've heard people refer to what you called a 电动车 as one and even the bigger types as well..
Also, if you have never been to China before BEWARE of the 公共汽车! They don't stop!!

I saw this in my e-mail and guessed the dialogue!
I have to agree that this situation does happen quite frequently and it does get frustrating!
I have many Chinese friends, some can speak English, some can't. I think we established which language we use most often from the beginning. BUT there are those "friends" who are around the same level as my Chinese and we often struggle for control of practice time.. Since we spend so much time together it usually balances out. 互相学习。
However, the one thing I wont stand for is the "standing in a circle speaking Chinese with everyone" situation and then having someone come over and feel they NEED to translate because I am an English speaker. Yes, I probably didn't understand. But if that is the case then let me ask what they are talking about.. 对我来说，这样的事情是特别不礼貌的。。

你不是去学习英语吗？。。
But seriously, I completely agree. Chinese people who don't speak English usually understand me 90% of the time. Anyone who can speak even a lick of English tend to not want to put the effort in... Oh well. Keep on pushing forward!
