I've heard a lot of Chinese people (both in the north and south) include the 儿 sound when the just wanted the sentence to have a bit more balance.. Kind of like how you can add 很, 好.. I know these act as modal verbs(??) but just in the sense of it sounding nice as well.. Anywell else hear of this? -许尘

哈哈。。 有问题买一节七号电池!好玩儿! 我以前在别的中国城市有电动车,一天有贼偷我车子的大电池。。就有很多麻烦再买,差不多七,八块钱。。 Needless to say my next purchase was a fold up bicycle that fits nicely in my living room.. Also, I completely agree that licking a battery is required at least one in a life time. -许尘

你好Connie! 如果我用这个“访”,我的意思就对的吗? 就是'visit"的意思, 一天我在路上看看本杂志说过“专访”。。我以为记得什么字 我再来。。 “我一看你说什么,我就发现我笨得不得了” 说得清楚呢? 你看懂了吗?。。我该用英语说吧。。

怕听不到Chinesepod.. Yase, I've also wondered how much use a word needs before it becomes something officially excepted.. With that being said I read somewhere that France once tried to "control" the French language by out lawing and removing words they deemed unfit.. In the end it they just gave up. -许尘

我可以说呢?: architpol说的话和ihyi比同意多了。。 Maybe I just made that up but I want to say that "I agree more with architpol".. Hehe, I agree if it's understood then it may very well be a word!! -许尘

Hey I have a question about dinner time... Recently I asked some Chinese friends out for dinner, However when we arrived at the restaurant they took over the hosting position.. I asked them to help me read the menu and order a few dishes but by the time we were finished they had completely taken over the "host seat'.. Even when the food arrived they continued to supply us with full bowls.. and at the end when I did the sneak off to the bathroom to pay trick they had already done it!!! Should I feel bad? We were out numbered and every time we tried to be "host like" they beat us to it! At they end we all shared our "thank you"s and "hao chi"s but I can't help but feel a little dumb.. -许尘
