Posted on: Words with Heart (Part 2)
August 1, 2011 at 10:28 PMGreat lessons!
I think we need a part 3, there are a number of words that could still do with being covered such as
甜心 is this only a term of endearment? MDBG says it means "delighted to oblige"
省心,疑心,好奇心,不甘心,变心,忍心,精心,知心,分心,费心(which is different somehow from 操心)。。
difficult to tell from either the examples or the dictionary meaning exactly what they mean.

May 20, 2011 at 1:53 PMIs 每日咖啡 used to say drip coffee (US)/filter coffee (UK)? I forgot the name 星巴克 used for this kind but I'm pretty sure it was rather different.
This lesson isn't much use if you go to 山岛 (UBC) coffee, there knowing your varieties is more useful (蓝山 is the only one I remember off the top of my head).

April 15, 2011 at 6:06 PM除了这些跟佛教有关的词汇(比如说“禅”,“刹那”,“释迦摩尼”等)意外,不知道中文有没有其他梵文借词?

March 24, 2011 at 5:01 AMThis sentence in the PDF/text transcript is wrong:
你就别杞人忧天了,政府和专家会考虑这些事情的。
the dialogue says:
(didn't catch) 日本发生了这么大的核事故,肯定会促使各个国家提高核电站的安全级别。

October 16, 2010 at 10:12 PMThe title is confusing - 井底之蛙 is a different story where a narrow-minded frog is finally shown how big the world is by a turtle. Nothing to do with the princess and the frog story here.

August 6, 2011 at 3:14 AMA good introduction to the punctuation marks in Chinese. However, the real mysteries (at least to me) were not touched upon. For example, where are commas are placed in Chinese sentences? To me this sentence seems unnatural:
即使要求很高的市场对不同种类的商品,也需要有各种档次的货色和价格。
As far as I can tell the first part of the sentence does not contain a verb, and really makes no sense if left on its own.
Is the sentence wrong? If it's right, then what exactly does a comma separate?
Also, to reiterate jbaldwi1's question, how about 分号?
