ouxiansheng

I think 1744 is 议程 and 1745 is 环节。

Not sure if this will be picked up but I have another suggestion -- 心 + body part words -- 心眼,心血,心声,心目,心胸。

Ah, useful addition to vocabulary!

建设 is an odd one, although it seems to have some concrete (!) construction connotations

建设道路 (roads/road network)

it seems to apply only to large and complex projects. I wouldn't say a steel factory is only building work, for example. I don't think we can really say

More often it is used in the more abstract sense of"found" or "establish" as in:

Finally according to examples in jukuu, 建设性 means "constructive" as in 建设性活动, 建设性意义。 I don't suppose there is anything like 建设性批评 is there :-)

“a very verbose characteristic of Chinese”

Missed a couple of words.

Jenny (3:22)

Grammatically seems a bit odd, did I get that right?

Thanks!

Sorry, that should obviously be:

Thanks, Jenny, but I'm not convinced there aren't hidden rules. Let's take a typical jawbreaker sentence:

Why are there no commas until nearly 2/3 of the way there? Can we put a comma before, for example, the 以及,or before 编写而成的?

On the other hand, even some short sentences need commas:

No?
